The 2012 World Superyacht Awards has moved to Istanbul, 5 May 2012. It will be held at the Çırağan Palace Kempinski Istanbul. The Palace offers ultimate luxury and glamour of a genuine Ottoman Palace, pampering their guests, resonating in enchanted hues of yellow of the morning sun and lush green of their beautiful palm gardens.
The World Superyacht Awards is celebrating their 7th year, and honour the finest new builds delivered to superyacht owners in the last 12 months. Winners will be presented by the Neptune trophy, which  is synonymous with excellence in superyacht build and design. 14 awards, each individually custom-made, will be presented in May 2012.
The judges for the World Superyacht Awards 2012 include some of the richest, with exquisite taste, and knowing how to enjoy their superyachts bestowed with works from some of the finest designers and excellent builds.
The Superyacht Singapore Association SSA has been privileged to have met up with Rodney Black prior, designer of Rodney Black Design Studios, who shared with us the works on MY Lady Christine, owned by Lord Irvine Laidlaw, one of the judges for World Superyacht Awards 2012. The design of Lady Christine speaks of the requirements of their owners, adopting a "pure modernist expression to serve as a foundation for Lady Christine's style, referencing brilliant artwork of designers such as Emile-Jacquews Ruhlmann, Rene Lalique and Edgar Brandt, all uniquely designed".
SSA is more than delighted that one of the 2012 finalist, Vertigo one of the largest ever built sail yacht by Alloy Yachts has sailed to Singapore waters. Alloy Yachts is one of New Zealand's largest (and the World's) most noteworthy and well-respected superyacht ship-building yards. Vertigo was officially launched in December 2010, and delivered to their new owners in 2011. Vertigo is truly captivating with its build and indeed a beautiful sight.
