Superyacht News: New purchases, orders, weddings and other news

1) Gulf Craft, who newly joined SSA, confirmed the sale of a Majesty 88 to a Singapore-buyer following a lead generated during the Singapore Yacht Show recently ended from its first inaugural superyacht yacht show from April 8th to April 10th. Congratulations to the new owner, the broker, and of course the builder for a well-executed deal.

2) Wedding: Brad and Liana are now Mr. And Mrs. Brad de Lange. Brad, an Australian yachting professional and ex-captain of SY Jeremy married his Singapore sweetheart, Liana during an emotion filled ceremony and elegant dinner at the Fullerton Hotel, Singapore. SSA was there. We pray a blessed marriage and plenty of little de Lange!

3) Simpson Marine Singapore has also confirmed the sale of a Azimut 105 to a regular-customer based in Singapore. The yacht will arrive by end 2012 in Singapore after the owner receives delivery of the yacht and enjoys it for a couple of months in the Med. Sounds like a plan! Team of Simpson Marine - what a way to start your new fiscal year! Congrats from SSA!

4) Well wishes of prompt recovery to Captain Terry Timmer:

Hospitalized at Gleneagles Hospital in Singapore for over 2 weeks, Captain Terry Timmer, one of the most recognized figures in the yachting industry in Southeast Asia and Captain of "Blue" an Indonesia-based Azimut 116, is nicely recovering from a severe life-threatening infection. SSA and the yachting community at large would like to thank everyone for their prayers, well wishes and expressions of love and concerns.  Let's keep praying and believing for a total recovery within the next few days.

5) Rumors, Rumors: 40 meters, 50 meters, 60 meters.... Length overall (LOA)of yachts are getting larger and larger  were either purchased lately or are in the process of being acquired by Singapore-based clients and delivered by year-end. Let's wait and see!

6) 2011 ICOMIA conference in Singapore (May 10-12): the conference closed with Singapore marina visits. Main conclusions from the discussions: Marinas are being planned and built in the East. That s the ignition point. Now the rest has to follow. Quite simple...

7)  Buy a piece of Singapore history: Adamas II up for sale! Built in 1987 by Dauphin in Singapore, the 54 meters was certainly a great achievement for the only Singapore yard that was at the time really making headways in the Superyacht segment. Refitted in 2005 only, Adamas II nonetheless kept a very solid reputation for the seriousness of it's built and design. Our call: a yacht that deserves a discerning owner and a tasteful refreshment of its interiors.
