March 11, 2011 – Helm Superyacht Asia Pacific magazine threw its first Superyacht Social on March 8, 2011 at Indochine's Forbidden City at Clarke Quay in Singapore. The event brought together local property and yachting industry players for an evening of networking and presentations on luxury yachting.
Guests snacked on Asian fusion finger foods and enjoyed free flowing beer and wine while exchanging business cards and listening to a presentation hosted by Helm editor Byron Perry on the region's growing superyacht industry.

Simon Turner from yacht brokers Northrop & Johnson Asia gave a quick and entertaining slide show on luxury yachting in Singapore and South East Asia. He highlighted the diverse cruising regions South East Asia has to offer, including Thailand's Andaman Coast, Malaysia's Tioman Islands, and Myanmar's Mergui Archipelago.
Clare Wray, of event organisers Informa Yacht Group, then gave a short speech on the upcoming Singapore Yacht Show, to be held April 8-10 at ONE15 Marina on Sentosa Island. The Singapore Yacht Show will be the first show in Asia to focus exclusively on superyachts, which are defined as being over 80 feet long. Helm is a media partner with the show.
The Superyacht Social also celebrated the release of the First Quarter 2011 issue of Helm magazine and the March issue of Property Report South East Asia, both of which were on display throughout the venue. Helm and Property Report are published by Ensign Media.
