Superyacht Singapore Association and Informa Yacht Group to Collaborate on the Asia Superyacht Conference 2010

On Friday 16th April, the Superyacht Singapore Association (SSA) signed an agreement with the Informa Yacht Group (IYG) to support the 2nd Asia Superyacht Conference in October this year.

After the overwhelming success of the inaugural conference in 2009, which attracted more than 150 delegates from over 30 countries, SSA took the decision to seek a professional conference organiser as a partner for the next edition. By teaming up with IYG, the best-known events organiser in the Superyacht industry, SSA believes they will be able to realise the full potential of the event which was conceived to help drive the expansion of the fast emerging superyacht market in South East Asia.

"We were astounded by the huge interest that last year's conference created around the region. We are delighted that we can now count on Informa’s enormous experience in marketing – and in yachting events - to enable the event to reach a far wider audience, which will be a major catalyst to growth in this region," said Jean-Jacques Lavigne, Executive Director of the SSA.

The 2nd Asia Superyacht Conference will take place in Singapore from 12-14 October 2010 with a vastly enhanced programme, as well as a significant trade show element and a gala dinner. The event will focus on promoting the Asia-Pacific region to Western owners, captains and the global industry by showcasing cruising grounds, infrastructure and local knowledge. It will also promote opportunities for collaboration between Asian manufacturers and the industry in the west. The programme will focus the spotlight on superyacht construction in China and Taiwan, the needs of Asian owners and future market opportunities across the region.

Andy Treadwell, Managing Director of Informa Yacht Group, added: "The whole of the wider superyacht industry is now looking to the Asia-Pacific region, and the Asia Superyacht Conference has immediately become a highly important reference point and meeting place. As the organiser of some of the major yacht shows in the world, we are in an ideal position to spread the word and encourage yacht owners, captains, builders, brokers and the whole industry to come and have a look in order to understand why South East Asia could very quickly now become one of the world's leading superyacht destinations."

More details of the conference will be available soon via www.asiasuperyachtconference.com and www.superyacht.sg.
