Wealthy Singaporeans view 50m superyacht JeMaSa

November 16, 2008

Fifty-metre superyacht JeMaSa, in port from mid-September to the end of October welcomed a number of leading wealthy Singaporeans and international visitors on board for private viewings. Organized by yacht broker Simpson Marine, by appointment only, the visit nicely coincided with the Singapore Formula 1 weekend, (27 - 28 September). An exclusive Open Day, held on 27 September, caught the eye of high-profile guests who flew to the island to attend the race.
Interest was good from both individuals and corporate groups interested in chartering and there were also several potential buyers, reported Rico Stapel, Simpson Marine's charter manager. Completed in 2006, JeMaSa is the largest yacht launched to date at the world renowned Dutch shipyard, Hakvoort. The super luxurious vessel was designed by Diana Yacht Design, highlighting the talents of naval architect, Espen Oeino. The initial interior concept was done by Oeino and Michela Reverberi, with further enhanced designs by Barbara Barry of Los Angeles.
JeMaSa's visit to the island further highlights the pull of Asia, which is drawing in super and mega-yachts from around the world. "Asia offers something new, exotic and magical for people wanting something a little unique. In addition, the supporting marine infrastructure and high-profile events in the region just add to its overall appeal," said Stapel.
