Santa Claus’ Charm Delighted Kids at the Simpson Marine Christmas Party
On 3rd December, Simpson Marine held an early Christmas celebration for its owners, family and friends at Lazarus Island. About 70 people attended the party together with boats of various brands including Azimut, Beneteau, Lagoon and Sea Ray.
Lazurus Island is a tiny southern island in Singapore that offer quiet respite from the big city with their laid-back ambience, sandy beaches and inviting waters. It offers swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving although the currents are quite strong, as such are recommended only for experienced divers.
The Lazarus party was the latest in a series of exciting yacht outings that Simpson Marine has organised as a value added aspect of their boat sales and support. Back in early October, Simpson Marine led a convoy to cruise around the Riau Archipelago in conjunction with The Equator Club.
The yachts met at Sisters Islands and set off for Nongsa Point Marina and Numbing. It turned out to be an all Azimut party as the stylish power boats ranging from 58 to 64 feet raced each other to destinations and secret hideaways. The Equator Club also led the convoy to their secret anchorages where everyone had great fun exploring the secluded destinations.
In mid-October, Simpson Marine sponsored the Beneteau Sense 50 for use as the media and VIP boat for The Ambassadors Cup 2011 that took place at Changi Sailing Club. The new Sense 50 posed some competition for the participants as it was near the head of the pack, enabling the media to snap away at all the action.
The more recent Christmas party at Lazarus Island took a unique festive turn when Peter Mison, a Simpson Marine yacht broker, dressed up as Santa and came merrily ashore in a dinghy. His appearance created an uproar amongst the children and caused much delight. To top it all off, Santa distributed gifts to the excited kids and made it a truly, unforgettable Christmas celebration for them.
As with all Simpson Marine yacht outings, everyone present had a great time socialising, eating and drinking on the beach at Lazarus Island. In the bay, the assembled Simpson Marine yachts made a fine and majestic sight riding at anchor. One of the highlights of the event was Paul Whelan, General Manager of Simpson Marine SEA, being presented with a surprise birthday cake by Santa!
The popular Simpson Marine Rendezvous concept was first launched in Singapore in 2006 as a way to bring Simpson Marine’s Sea Ray, Beneteau, Lagoon and Azimut boat owners together to enjoy the boating lifestyle, meet new friends and enjoy their boats in a fun and safe environment.
