Simpson Marine Announces Singapore Brokerage Team
Singapore (August 13, 2010) -- Simpson Marine, Asia’s leading yacht brokerage company, is pleased to announce the line up of its newly revamped sales team for Singapore. The Singapore team comprises Paul Whelan, Peter Mison, Nick Stratton and Clarice Jamain.
Growing up in the US with a lake as his backyard, yacht broker Peter Mison began his boating adventures very early in life. Weekend sailing and racing was the norm for his family on the 34-foot sloop that he helped his father build. At age 22, he completed a passage from Los Angeles to Hawaii and has been an avid sailor ever since. Although he craves the excitement of sailing yachts, he also enjoys taking is family out on his 32-foot Sea Ray sports cruiser. Peter is a long term resident of Singapore where he is an enthusiastic promoter of the boating lifestyle. He is also the Secretary of the Singapore Boating Industry Association (SBIA).
Hailing from England, yacht broker Nick Stratton was a brokerage manager at UK brokerage firm Ancasta International Boat Sales for five years where he oversaw an office responsible for sales of over 50 boats a year. He received professional training as a yacht broker at the Yacht Brokers, Designers and Surveyors Association (YBDSA), UK. Having recognised the growth potential for Asia’s boating lifestyle, Nick moved to Singapore six months ago to join Simpson Marine as a broker. Nick is convinced that Asia is the right place and the right time to continue his boat brokerage career.
Well known in regional boating circles as one of the few ladies in the yachting industry, marketing and charter sales executive, Clarice Jamain has worked for Simpson Marine for nine years, mainly in Malaysia. Clarice moved to Singapore nine months ago to join the staff in Singapore’s fast-growing sales and brokerage office. Being the Marketing and Charter Specialist, Clarice specialises in super yacht charters in South East Asia. Her in-depth understanding of the industry provides the essential ingredient for a well-executed marketing portfolio.
Leading the team is Simpson Marine Singapore’s General Manager Paul Whelan. Originally from Australia, Paul brings 24 years of Marine Industry experience to Simpson Marine. He has hands-on experience in virtually all aspects of the industry, having started as a Shipwright, before spending nine years in the Superyacht Industry before returning to Australia to establish and run several successful marine businesses.
A qualified Master Class IV Captain, Paul has logged extensive sea miles with multiple Transatlantic and Indian Ocean crossings, Mediterranean and Caribbean cruising and lengthy periods in Asia onboard 60m+ yachts. After the successful sale of his business in Australia, Paul was looking for a fresh challenge when he was referred to Simpson Marine.
Having firsthand experience in the yachting hubs of Florida, The South of France and Sydney, Paul can see the huge growth potential and attraction of the pristine cruising grounds available in Asia and the growing desire of Asians to live the boating lifestyle.
