The Superyacht Singapore Association SSA recently held its 2011 ExtraCULINAire Event at Dempsey Hill on August 16th. Hosted at Culina, the deli boosted an under-one-roof supply of gourmet foods and wines.
The event was attended by about 30 participants with some new faces like Mr. Andrew Wong of Strike Petroleum, Mr. Chris Gawan-Taylor of Spinnaker Run, and Ms. Shirley Lim of the Singapore Tourism Board...
The event commenced with a welcome speech by the Managing Director of Culina, Mr. Ian Davidson, followed by a short update by the Executive Director of SSA, Mr. Jean-Jacques Lavigne on the progress taking place in the superyacht industry.
Attendees were delighted that the superyacht industry in Singapore is gaining attention manifested by the superyacht traffic that grew over the years, and in 2010, reaching a high of 81, surpassing the target set by SSA in 2007.
Thereafter, the dedicated team of Culina pampered our guests with their selection of cheese and canapes of trout, cavier, complementing with the reds and whites. Â

Amidst the jovial atmosphere, the gathering went on till the later hours -- it was a very friendly and warm get-together session; it sounded like the perfect combination for a prelude to the season's tidings party....
Mr. Jim Irwin of William Angliss Institute commented that it was a very well-organized event; Mr. Jason Jones of Swift Integrated Marine Services (member of SSA) found that it was a very good opportunity for members to get acquainted with the yachting professionals, and Ms Catherine Raemdonck of the French Chamber of Commerce had a better understanding of the yachting industry and looks forward to future networking events.
SSA would like to thank Culina and their team for sponsoring the event, and members and friends of SSA who took time off from their busy schedule to attend the event.  Â
